A gay sauna in Armley has applied for planning permission to provide overnight accommodation at its premises – despite already offering the facilities for the past eight years.
The Steam Complex in Eyres Avenue has applied for retrospective planning permission to change its use from a sauna to a sauna with overnight accommodation.
A supporting statement submitted by applicants Roger Lee Planning Ltd says The Steam Complex has already been offering overnight accommodation through 21 rooms for ‘more than eight years’ without the necessary planning permission.
The statement says:
“The complex does not provide hotel accommodation but provides the facility for members and guests to remain in the building overnight. Although food and drink is served (Steam is a licensed venue) this is available to all members and guests every day whether they are staying overnight or not.”
More details on the application can be found here.
