An Armley pub has received the green light to extend its outdoor seating area for customers.
Leeds City Council has approved plans at The Travellers Rest pub to provide additional outside seating, a new timber framed pergola, new fixed seating booths and festoon lighting with support posts.
A statement submitted with the plans said the proposals would use parts of the existing car park, resulting in a loss of four car parking spaces. It adds:
“This work is intended to improve the visual appearance of the premises, and the facilities offered to customers, and to help ensure the long-term viability of the business into the future.”
There are no alterations proposed to the interior of the pub, which is based on Hill Top Road.
A council report approving the proposals concluded:
“It is considered that the development complies with the aims and intentions of all relevant policies and will not cause harm to visual amenity, nor residential amenity and highway safety.”
