A contractor is set to be appointed to carry out £1.1m improvements at Leeds Industrial Museum in Armley.
A council report, which is awaiting approval, says public sector contractor Bermar Building Company Ltd will deliver the construction works at the locomotive shed and drying range at Leeds Industrial Museum.
The work follows a successful Arts Council England funding application under the MEND programme.

Work includes the reconstruction of the engine shed, which was demolished due to structural defects and to allow the development of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme, which was officially completed in December.
The report adds: “Large parts of the external areas of the museum have remained closed off to the general public sine the flooding event in 2015.
“This has resulted in reduced visitor numbers and shorter duration visits, reducing the enjoyment of the facility as well as limiting secondary spend in the café and visitor shop.
“It is anticipated that the reconstruction of the engine shed and works to the drying range will allow the full site to re-open to the general public in late Spring 2025 with a much wider offer than was previously able.”
The works will be jointly funded by the council and Arts Council England.
