An Armley shop’s premises licence has been revoked following concerns by West Yorkshire Trading Standards (WYTS).
Krakow Mini Market on Armley Town Street had illegal tobacco products with a street value of £3,000 seized by WYTS officers last year.
Some of the illegal cigarettes and tobacco were hidden in a hole in a wall at the store.
Shopowner Mr Arman Solymani told councillors on the licensing sub-committee that he had no knowledge of the illegal activity and the staff member responsible had been sacked.
WYTS demanded the shop’s premises licence, which allows the sale of alcohol everyday from 9am to 9pm daily, be reviewed on the grounds of prevention of crime and disorder, public safety and the protection of children from harm.
Councillors unanimously agreed to strip Mr Solymani of the licence.
