Partners of the Armley CAN (ACAN) have come together to produce a guide for local residents to help them access the support they may need during the cost of living crisis.
The guide “Living in New Wortley & Armley – Need help with the cost of living?” confirms what is provided by local organisations in terms of food banks and schemes, pre-loved shops, school uniform schemes, household goods support and more
Partners will issue the guide to local people to help signpost them to the most appropriate place for the support they need. It will be available from community organisations, schools, shops and places of worship across the local area
Armley CAN is a group of eight local organisations who have come together to work collaboratively to support the residents of New Wortley and Armley to live happy, healthy, thriving lives.
Andrea Edwards, CEO of New Wortley Community Association, said: “We wanted to build upon the great partnership work that took place across Armley during the pandemic, so our overall mission is to ensure our communities have more equity, influence, and ownership of the neighbourhoods they live in.
“Working together helps us play to each other’s strengths, maximise resource and have a co-ordinated approach to how we deliver support to local people.”
Copies of the guide can be picked up at community organisations, schools, shops and places of worship. For more information e-mail enquiries@ArmleyCAN.org.uk.
