Hundreds of people flocked to Armley Town Street on Saturday to celebrate Armley’s Christmas lights being switched on.
Attractions at the Armley Winter Wonderland event included a Christmas market at St Bart’s Church, a candy cane hunt and a Santa’s grotto.
There were free activities on Armley Town Street from the council’s youth services team, West Leeds Activity Centre and New Wortley Community Centre, among others.
The big switch-on was compered by TV presenter Peg Alexander, with help from Leeds Rhinos mascot Ronnie the Rhino.
A festive Christmas window competition, this year sponsored by BAM Nuttall, was won by Karpaty Bakery.
Other prizes were won by Preloved, Tri Flooring, Skeltons Butchers, Cake Craft, Armley Community Hub. Mr Motivaper was the Armley Action Team winner.
The event was held on Small Business Saturday, which encourages people to support independent traders.
