Returning to windows across the neighbourhood, Kirkstall Advent Trail will bring a festive creative display every day from Monday 1 December 2025 onwards.
Organised through Kirkstall Art Trail, the Advent Trail launches by unveiling the first window display on Hesketh Avenue from 7pm on 01/12/2025. There will be somgs sung by the Sing Meanwood Choir, and all visitors are urged to bring their own hot drinks and mince pies.
Beginning in 2020 the trail has been an opportunity for friends and neighbours to demonstrate their creative talents. The trail map features numbered displays that are revealed on their Advent days, and Star displays that will be on show throughout December. The displays will be taken down by 5 January 2025.
For those unable to visit, the Trail displays will be posted on social media. This year Kirkstall Art Trail also sold packs of Christmas card featuring displays, as a means to fundraise for the event in July 2025.

Taking notice
One of the aims of both Kirkstall Art Trail and the Kirkstall Advent Trail has been to better connect the community in Kirkstall.
KAT identified that a community noticeboard was needed in the heart of Kirkstall, and following discussions work has been begun on bringing together groups who might support and benefit from a noticeboard.
Having a social media presence and website work for community groups, though printed media like the West Leeds Dispatch or traditional flyers and posters. Noticeboards provide an opportunity to further reach.
The board would be ‘not for profit’ – and interested community groups should get in contact by emailing info@kirkstallarttrail.co.uk. At this stage discussions about how funding might be raised for the noticeboard are the priority.
Kirkstall Art Trail Fashion Show returns with Dreamscape theme
Preparations are already under way for next year’s Kirkstall Art Trail, including a call out for applications for designers to take part in the Fashion Show.
The popular sustainable Fashion Show will be themed around ‘Dreamscape’, with designers asked to showcase their designs using second handbook, recycled, or sourced for free materials.
Further information can be found on the Kirkstall Art Trail website, including the application form which has a deadline of Friday, 3 April 2026.
This will be the third year the Fashion Show features in Kirkstall Art Trail, which takes place over the weekend Saturday, 18 July and Sunday, 19 July 2026.
Building on previous success, art in all its forms and community from both near and far will come together under the aim of encouraging engagements and education in art.
Update 28 November: This article was updated to clarify the closing date of fashion show applications.
