Where to watch Tour De Yorkshire 2019 in Armley, Bramley, Burley, Kirkstall and Hawksworth

Millions of spectators are expected to line the route over the four days of Tour De Yorkshire action this weekend.

The race takes in areas of Leeds on Friday 3 May and returns for the spectacular finale through West Leeds and the city centre on Sunday 5 May.

Here are the full routes and where to catch the action.

Friday 3 May

Men’s Stage 2 and Women’s Stage 1 – Barnsley to Bedale

Riders will enter the Leeds area from Castleford passing Allerton Bywater before entering Kippax.

The men will start outside Barnsley Town Hall at 2.45pm before exiting in a north easterly direction and past Nostell Priory at 3.12pm.

The route then heads towards Pontefract where the first intermediate sprint will be held at 3.23pm. Garforth (3.43pm) and Scholes (3:53pm) both make appearances as the route then skirts Leeds in an anti-clockwise direction, and shortly after the peloton have exited Leathley (4.26) they will commence the Côte de Lindley at 4.29.

With that done and dusted it’s on to Harrogate where the riders get the chance to tackle the exact same circuit that will be used at the 2019 UCI Road World Championships. and finishing in Bedale.

Sunday 5 May

Stage 4 – Halifax to Leeds

The Piece Hall in Halifax will provide a spectacular start location at 12.35pm and the action will head up the cobbled Main Street in Haworth at 1.11pm before the first of six categorised climbs comes on the Côte de Goose Eye at 1.21pm.

Crossing from Brontë Country into Craven, the route heads through Skipton. The route continues on to Masham (3.23pm) and into Nidderdale where the riders will grind their way up the Côte de Greenhow Hill at 4.05pm. The undulating terrain doesn’t relent and shortly after passing through Otley at 4.39pm the next categorised climb is on the cards at Otley Chevin (4.45pm).

The final intermediate sprint points will be fought out in Tinshill at 4.58pm.

The route then follows Spen Lane down to the A65 Abbey Road, over Kirkstall Bridge then up Wyther Lane and Cockshott Lane to Stanningley Road. Cyclists will then use Canal Road to head back down, crossing the A65 again to reach Burley Road.

The final sprint will take riders into the city centre for the rip-roaring finish on the Headrow to the front of the Town Hall and Art Gallery.into Leeds for a rip-roaring conclusion on The Headrow at 5.17pm.

“There is a whole host of added entertainment being planned en-route so be sure to line the roadside early on the days so you get to see the colourful race caravan and fleet of Yorkshire cycling legends pass through.”
