Let’s review our favourite West Leeds restaurants – can I start with The Blue Tiger in Bramley? writes Diane Law.

So I’m pretty biased and have become a sort of self-appointed ‘PR’ for The Blue Tiger.

Can you blame me though? I’ve lived in Bramley for 29 years and claimed in all that time “what Bramley needs is a decent restaurant”.

As as far as I am concerned we now have that privilege since the Blue Tiger on Ganners Hill opened its doors just over two years ago.

It is not based on the main Town Street, blessed with a regular footfall, it’s in an area of Bramley which can be described as being out of sight.

To attract custom, like any new restaurant, it really needed to develop a reputation for good-quality service, food and super-friendly staff.

Owner Abdul and his team have done just that and have been rewarded with a food hygiene rating of five. They often bring in regular and new customers alongside ample takeaway orders.

It’s very advisable to book a table now, so not to be disappointed if you just turn up on chance.

If you just can’t decide what you want from the menu I can recommend the Gol Gappay for a starter, it is by far my favourite. Or try the Thali night on Wednesday, which is great way to sample three of their different curries.

Give the hot curry challenge a go if you’re brave (or foolish) enough and are up for it.

The Blue Tiger Restaurant has been shortlisted in the YEP Top 10 ‘Curry houses’.

It gets my vote and I would recommend if you live in West Leeds that you vote for it too. The closing date to send in votes is 23rd August. What are you waiting for?
