Pudsey fire: Homes evacuated on Kent Road

UPDATE 10.21am: Seven fire engines remain on Kent Road.

A number of houses nearby were evacuated last night, however all residents are now back in their homes.

At its height 70 firefighters and officers were on the scene.

ORIGINAL POST: Householders in Pudsey were evacuated overnight due to a massive blaze at a business premises.

Police evacuated 20 homes in Kent Road, Pudsey, at around 10pm last night (February 6), as 15 fire crews tackled the blaze at Moulds Patterns and Models.

Roads around the area are still closed this morning as fire crews continue to tackle the blaze, which is now under control. No one was hurt.

Crawshaw Academy is closed for the day.

Pudsey Parish Church has opened its doors today to support anyone needing help. Vicar Richard Dimery said:

”We are shocked by the fire around Kent Road overnight and praying for all affected – business owners, workers, and local residents. Pudsey Parish Church will be open from 10am-2pm for anyone needing somewhere warm and friendly to chat, or quiet to sit, with free tea and coffee.”

Police are are investigating the cause of the blaze.
