Police re-new information appeal following fatal Stanningley Road collision

Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Armley last month.

The incident happened at 10.58pm on Saturday 13 July on Stanningley Road, at the junction with Armley Grange Drive, in Leeds.

The collision involved a blue Skoda Fabia and a pedestrian, 30-year-old Shane Grimes.

Mr Grimes, from Bramley, died at the scene.

The Skoda had been travelling away from Leeds towards the Stanningley Bypass.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was later released under investigation.

Detectives in the Force’s Major Collision Enquiry Team are appealing for any witnesses who have yet to speak to officers to contact police.

Armley residents have since called for more road safety measures along Stanningley Road.
