Police in Leeds have released an Efit of a man they would like to trace following the burglary of an elderly woman in Henconner Lane on Monday afternoon (December 4).

It occurred around 3pm after the suspect knocked on the back door of the residential property, speaking to the home owner about maintenance needing to be done to water pipes.

The man entered the property and engaged the victim, a woman in her 70’s, in conversation.  She found after the suspect left, around 10 minutes later, to have had an amount of money stolen from her purse.

A police spokesperson said:

“The suspect has clearly taken steps to try and distract the elderly victim in order to steal from her in her own home.

“The address is on a busy main road, and I believe there will have been a number of people in or around the area around time of the incident, who may have seen the suspect, or someone matching the e-fit in the area.

“I would urge anyone who may have any information to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone who can identify the suspect should contact police via 101 quoting 13170566605, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
