Yorkshire Water is about to start further work to complete the scheme for the multi-million pound Kirkstall Forge development, leading to more traffic delays in the area.

To reduce disruption, the week-long project will start on Saturday 10 February and be completed by the end of the half term school holidays.

Two-way lights will be in operation on Abbey Road and Vesper Walk. The temporary lights will be attended at peak times to try and minimise disruption to motorists and commuters.

Buses will continue to run as normal; however, temporary bus stops will be in use and pedestrian access on the Kirkstall Forge side of Abbey Road will be suspended during the work.

Communications advisor Mark Allsop said:

“We’re aware that we’ve worked in the area quite recently and hope that customers bear with us whilst we complete this essential work. We’ve liaised closely with the local highways department and bus companies to minimise disruption as much as possible.”

Businesses in the area will be open as usual and the company is urging customers to continue to support them.
