Residents can have their say on a proposed extension at Hollybush Primary School in Bramley this week.

Due to increases in population, the council proposes to build a single-storey extension to an existing teaching block at Hollybush Primary School, on Broad Lane, to meet increased demand.

A statement submitted to Leeds City Council as part of an application for planning permission for the scheme says: “Design of this extension is in keeping with the existing building, and will increase and improve the teaching space.” The proposals are classed as ‘permitted development’ due to their small size, which means the school can go ahead with its plans without requiring full planning permission.

A special information day will give parents and local residents the chance to have their say on the expansion proposals.  The public information day – open to all on Wednesday 9 September between 2pm and 7pm – will provide people with an opportunity to:

  • Find out about the proposed new development;
  • Meet key representatives from the school, Leeds City Council, and the construction company;
  • View plans showing the outline proposals of the building, landscaping, access, footpaths and parking arrangements; and
  • Have your say about the primary school development.

More details about the proposals will be released on the day.
