It was voted Leeds’ top pub just three years ago – but now the Golden Lion at Pudsey is in line for a revamp and a new landlord.

The pub, in Chapeltown, dates back to 1732 and has been empty since last year.

Owners Enterprise Inns say the popular pub has a potential turnover of more than £200,000 and are inviting viewings from potential landlords on April 22.

A spokesperson said:

“The Golden Lion requires multi-talented, hands on operator(s) who understand the local community market of all ages and has the abilities to make this pub flourish once again.

“With a large floor space, pool, TVs, beer garden and large car park there are plenty of opportunities to create and maximise this business. With lots of other local pubs in the vicinity, and a busy high street, there are lots of customers to attract.”

The historic boozer started life as a courthouse building but was transformed in the 18th century into a public house.
