Farsley Farmers Market returns to the village tomorrow (Saturday) writes Keely Bannister.
The successful local market, which has just celebrated its fifth anniversary, will host around 24 stalls.
Jo Reilly, a market team volunteer, told the Dispatch:
“The market expects around 12 stalls outside and 12 tables inside. Outside attendees will find pies and sweet pastries, olives, coffee beans and cheeses, a variety of sweet and savoury traders including, Farsley Smokehouse, and this month we have potted plants and some garden ornaments too.
“Inside we have an array of gifts crafted in wood, fabric, silver and stone, wool, ceramics, glass and soap plus soya candles, cosmetics and a bakes4cancer table. For any Fathers Day gifts we recommend people head straight for Fred&Bo gift shop.”
Hope Pastures, a Weetwood-based horse charity, will be in attendance with a pony to pet and pamper, and their own fundraising stall.
Farsley Festival will also be in attendance with an invitation for people to “come and have a chat or make a creation for the festival”.
The organisers of the festival, due to take place on June 22nd, have also put a shoutout on their Facebook page
for lots of duvet covers.
When and where…
The market is held between 9am and 12.30pm on Saturday 25th May.
The market is held at St John’s Church on New Street in Farsley. The grounds and church are fully accessible with a ramp provided and accessible toilets in the church. Attached to the church is an adult Changing Place facility.
The market is family friendly and dogs are welcome.
How to get there…
Early birds may find free on street parking on Farsley’s Town Street. There is extra parking available in the lower part of the Go Outdoors car park situated further up New Street. The market is serviced by the number 9, 16 and 508 bus routes which drop outside the church.
