DESCRIPTION:Pudsey Community Project runs a well-stocked children’s clothes exchange – all kinds of children’s clothes from 0-12 years old including school uniform\, shoes\, coats etc – saving people money and helping the planet at the same time!  \nThere are no fixed prices – clothes are free with no pressure to give but if you’d like to give a small donation to the Pudsey Community Project this will help support our work in the local area – or feel free to bring clothes that your children have grown out of as a swap.  \nWhen can I come to look through the clothes?  \nTerm-time opening  \nMonday-Saturday mornings 10am-12noon \nWednesday evenings 6-8pm \nWe’re open for you to pop in and have a look through the clothes to take whatever you can use (open to all – no appointments necessary).  You can also drop off clothes and pick up requested bags during these times. Please bear with our volunteers if it’s busy\, thanks!  \nSchool holiday opening  \nDuring school holidays we are open for browsing on Wednesday evenings only.  \nFor any urgent requests during holidays or if you’re unable to make it on a Wednesday evening\, please contact us on our Facebook page and we can arrange to have a bag of clothes made up for you to collect.

DESCRIPTION:Meet at Wyther Lane Canal Car Park\, 2 Wyther Lane\, Leeds LS5 3BP\nA nature-inspired creative workshop exploring the plants\, insects and wildlife living alongside the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in Kirkstall.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWaterside Life \nCome along for a creative afternoon of walking\, looking\, drawing and making as we explore the living landscape along the towpath of the canal. \nWe’ll head out along the historic canal corridor to see what we can find\, noticing the plants\, insects and wildlife that make use of this waterside habitat. Through playful sketching and observational drawing\, we’ll look closely at the shapes\, textures and tiny details that are easy to overlook. \nWe’ll explore how different forms of life coexist along the canal edge\, from plants growing alongside the water and insects moving between vegetation\, to the different habitats and micro-environments created along the waterway. \nWe will end our towpath walk by heading to the woodland shelter located in Hollybush Conservation Centre\, here we will turn our observations into simple collage illustrations\, shapes and abstract interpretations\, experimenting with marks\, textures and forms gathered from our drawings. \nYou don’t need any previous drawing or printmaking experience\, just bring your curiosity and a willingness to look at the familiar in a new way. \nThe drawings and prints created during the session will contribute to three collaborative zines as part of Common Ground\, a wider funded project bringing together observations and creative responses to Kirkstall’s living landscape. \nPractical information & accessibility: \nThis is a relaxed\, outdoor workshop involving a guided walk along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal towpath\, followed by a creative making session at Hollybush. \nThe towpath may include uneven surfaces\, narrow sections and areas where conditions vary according to the weather. Participants should wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. \nIf you have any access requirements or would like to discuss whether the session is suitable for you\, please get in touch before booking. \n\nPlease consider using public transport to arrive at the canal towpath.\n\n\nMeeting point: Wyther Lane canal car park.\n\n\nAll materials and equipment are provided.\nWe will not collect or remove living plants or disturb wildlife.\n\nThis project is part of the Seasons of Culture Programme funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Council through the Leeds Cultural Investment Programme.
