West Leeds: Sporting Memories Taster Sessions

Sporting Memories are teaming up with Armley Helping Hands and Active Leeds to offer 3 taster sessions for people across the local community.
Sporting Memories aims to support older people (over 50) to reminisce, replay and reconnect through a love of sport. Sport is a great connector whether it be through conversations about sport we have taken part in or sport we have spectated. Sporting Memories clubs also encourage physical activity supporting strength and balance as well as fun. It’s great to see that competitive edge come out!
Sporting Memories are able, thanks to their Lottery Funding, to focus on developing clubs in Leeds, potentially within the Neighbourhood Networks who can set up a club as part of their weekly activities, provide training for staff and volunteers and provide resources that allow teams to develop physical, fun and reminiscence activities and thus support connection, memory and physical wellbeing.
