Bramley: Celebrate Indie News Week

West Leeds Dispatch Community News is celebrating Indie News week

Date: Thursday 18th June, 10-12noon

Venue: The Proper Bike Shop and Café, Stanningley Road, Leeds LS13 4EN.  W3W///notes.went.bought  Disability access and toilet facilities. The café caters for all dietary requirements with a variety of home-made cakes. Parking: There is a small car park on site.  Public Transport: 72. It is a 10-minute walk from Bramley Train station.

Indie News Week aim is to establish connections between local residents and indie news outlets by: Getting community members engaged with local journalism to demystify news production and help residents feel like both the journalists and themselves have stakes in their communities. Encouraging journalists to listen to story ideas and concerns from residents, hopefully leading to co-created or community-inspired journalism.                      Their secondary purpose is to raise money.

You are welcome to chat face to face to our Editor about stories, events or issues you that affect you. If you know someone who has makes a difference or is celebrating a significant achievement, someone who is an unsung hero, a group that needs support or is going from strength to strength; let us know the details so we can have their names in print. Recent print editions will be available to collect.
