Bramley parkrun drew the crowds ove rthe weekend – volunteer JEAN HOLLINGS reports from an eventful run.

216 awesome athletes – walked, jogged or ran across the finish line. Joe Baxter reset our course record at 16mins 13secs.

We welcomed 29 first timers, with 18 people who completed their first-ever parkrun; we had visitors from Liverpool and Roundhay as part of their parkrun journey.

We had representatives from 16 different running clubs and there were 50 people who gained a personal best.

We also celebrated an athlete’s birthday and someone completing their 50th parkrun.

We had 22 wonderful volunteers who we certainly couldn’t do parkrun without.

Fundraiser: Pudsey’s Arthur Wood suffered a heart attack at Bramley parkrun

Coming up…

Having to reschedule due to ‘the beast from the east’, the 28th April will finally see Arthur Wood having half his beard shaved off, before running the Bradford 10K the following day.

He is raising funds for The British Heart Foundation (BHF) who has supported him since his heart attack at Bramley parkrun nearly two years ago.

Supporters wearing red (in aid of BHF) welcome to both events.
