Plans for houses on part of the site of Bramley Liberal Club off Hough Lane have been submitted to Leeds City Council for approval.

The application, for four pairs of semi-detached dwellings, one detached dwelling and 18 car parking spaces, has been submitted by Gavin Duffy from the club, which is now known as The Hollies Sports and Social Club.

Part of the site is currently used as a bowling green.

There are currently more than 20 individual objections to the scheme from local residents in the Prospects area, who are concerned about access onto the site, extra traffic, properties being overlooked and the possible loss of a green communal space which acts as a memorial area to a local resident. There are also concerns over the loss of a ‘much loved’ bowling green.

Full details of the application and how to comment can be found here.

The proposals are due to be decided by city councillors later this year.
