More than a tonne of dumped rubbish was removed from a lane in Farnley after flytippers targeted the area.
The flytippers left rubble and other items down unlit Gamble Lane between Friday night and Saturday morning. The road was closed briefly on Saturday morning while the waste was removed.
The council’s Clean Leeds accounted tweeted:
“Let us know if you have any idea who would be so irresponsible as to #Dump all this #Waste on a bend in the middle of a road on Gamble Lane #LS12 the road was closed this morning while we removed in excess of 1 tonne of rubble and other items.”

Gamble Lane has been targeted by flytippers in the past, with two tonnes of cut down trees dumped last year.
WLD reported four years ago on residents’ frustrations over dumped rubbish, mattresses and builders’ rubble.
A temporary CCTV camera was installed by the council in 2014 after building material was dumped in the lane, almost blocking the road entirely. In previous years a stash of marijuana plants had also been dumped there.
I walk my dogs down here sometimes when the weather is better and there’s always stuff being dumped. It’s really sad to see.
Obviously a temporarly CCTV isn’t enough.
