A former X Factor finalist will speak to Pudsey youngsters at a special event this week.

James Wilson, who touched the hearts of millions with his battle to overcome nerves on the hit TV show last year, will be entertaining young people at Pudsey Leisure Centre on the evening of Friday, September 15.

As part of the event, James will also be speaking on how he overcame dyslexia and his confidence issues to fulfil his dream of performing on the big stage.

Councillor Lisa Mulherin, Leeds City Council’s executive member for children and families, said:

“We are delighted to welcome former X Factor finalist James Wilson to Pudsey Leisure Centre later this week as part of our Breeze Friday Night Project programme for young people.

“Not only will James be performing on the evening he will also be giving a talk to the young people in attendance about how he conquered his nerves and tackled Dyslexia to achieve his ambition of becoming a singer, which promises to be very inspirational.”

The visit comes weeks after a gang of Pudsey’s youngsters were blamed for a spate of vandalism and anti-social behaviour in the town centre and park area.

The evening will be split into two sessions;

8-13 years – 6pm-7.30pm.

13-18 years – 7.30pm-9pm.
