West Leeds Dispatch: You have your say on our future

Last week we asked our readers to have their say on the future of the West Leeds Dispatch.

We had 52 responses to our survey, offering us a range of feedback and some really useful comments. A big THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to respond!

We’ll take a long look at the findings – but it’s gratifying so many people enjoy our (voluntary) work. We do need to continue to look at how we can become more sustainable in the long run. Our editor puts in around 25 hours a week on top of a full time job (and our volunteers work damn hard), there are costs to running our website, and we’d love to sustain a print edition following our successful pilot issue last year.

We’d love to hear any comments you have on this or the Dispatch in general in the comments below.

If you’d like to write for us, do drop us a line – we’re run by volunteers from the community and welcome contributors. Equally please get in touch if you’re interested in selling advertising. We’re at news@westleedsdispatch.com.

Here are the results…

  1. To be fair, this area votes Labour politicians into power every time, so inevitably it will be Labour MPs and councillors who get into the news, just by simple virtue that they are in office and so in a position to take action on things that gets them into the news.
