West Leeds community projects may receive council funding

Community projects ranging from Rodley Christmas Lights and an irrigation project at Stanningley rugby club could receive funding at a council meeting next week.

Members of the Outer West Community Committee will consider a number of applications for funding at he meeting, which will be held in the Council Chambers at Pudsey Town Hall on Wednesday, 18 July.

The committee, which is made up of councillors from Calverley & Farsley, Farnley & Wortley and Pudsey wards, will consider applications from the wellbeing and youth activity funds

Wellbeing fund applications to be decided:

Leeds LGBT+ Sport Fringe Festival – £2,000

More Than Food Disability Advice Services Lower Wortley, by Leeds North and West Foodbank – £2,968

Rodley Christmas Lights top-up – £651

Irrigation project at Stanningley Sports and Amateur Rugby League – £2,500

Youth activity fund to be decided:

Pudsey Music Workshops by DJ School UK – £2,880

Small grants approved since the last meeting:

Calverley Carnival – £500

Holiday Play Schemes for children with Disabilities by Aireborough Supported Activities – £435

The Great Pudsey Get Together by Pudsey Community Hub – £500

The community committee meeting, which starts at 1pm, is open to the public to attend and includes a section at the start of the meeting where members of the public can speak on local issues.
