Stanningley Road-based Cafe 53 is under new ownership – new boss Andy Hodgson has all the details…
My partner, Debbie Davis, and I bought the business from previous owners Claire and Louise Alcock on 1st December 2016.
My recent working background is within banking and finance, having recently left a role with RBS after 16 years.
Debbie has worked within a bakery/catering environment previously but this is the first time we have jointly operated a business together.
I am originally from Stanningley in Leeds but presently live with Debbie in her tome town of Bradford, so it is just a short trip each morning to get to the cafe.
We have only been trading for a few days this month but are both really enjoying working at the cafe, in particular meeting our new customers and suppliers in Armley.
The cafe is open for six days each week; 8am to 2pm Monday to Friday and 8am until 1pm on Saturdays.
Customers are welcome to eat within the cafe during these times or we can arrange free delivery if preferred.
We provide a varied menu of daily specials, breakfast sandwiches, full breakfasts, lunches, cakes, snacks and drinks and we are also looking to get involved with outside catering and can provide quality hot and cold buffets for meetings, training and social events.
