Now’s your chance. Tomorrow (Thursday, September 7), West Leeds Dispatch editor John Baron will be interviewing Cllr Keith Wakefield, the transport committee chair for West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA).
WYCA is a collaboration between all the local authorities in West Yorkshire plus York and the business sector, who come together to form a strategic vision for the region on issues such as transport.
In layman’s terms, they’re the people who make key decisions about regional transport and can bring pressure to bear on train companies to run more services at places like Kirkstall Forge.
On Friday WYCA’s transport committee will meet to discuss HS2, trans-pennine rail upgrades, and the formation of a key road route network in West Yorkshire. The agenda can be read here.

I would like to ask why there is no car parking at the Bramley side of Kirkstall Forge station. At the moment there is a 10/15 minute walk along along an unlit track.
Obvious one to ask but what’s the status of getting more services at Kirkstall Firge? One an hour is a joke at present
Kirkstall road has had millions spent on it over the years – yet Kirkstall is still at a logjam? What are you doing to relieve traffic congestion not just here but elsewhere in West Leeds? At the moment seems bothering no been done – do you tie house building into transport decisions and vice versa – seems development gets approved without adequate transport infrastructure
When the new bi-mode intercity trains are launched some direct London services from New Pudsey would be good now the station has been revamped and the car park extended.This would restore this service provided in the 1970/80s.
I would like to know why hasnt counc wakefield followed his promise of getting bus services back into public hands like in london.or has first won the day again like they always do are the ciuncillors scared of frst seems that way.
