Liberal Democrats are open, tolerant and united.

We want to provide strong opposition which is missing at present.

NHS: We want 1p extra on Income Tax. This would be dedicated, ring fenced specifically to go the NHS, especially including Mental Health care, and Social Care. 1p would raise 6 billion pounds in a full year, to add to the existing NHS funding.

Education: We need more teachers and less admin red tape. At present, most Schools in the Pudsey constituency are facing funding cuts and the worry of having to let teachers go. The proposed scrapping of school lunches and replacing them with breakfasts is disgraceful. Many children will go hungry: teachers tell me that the breakfast may well consist of a slice of toast with 18 baked beans on it.

The proposal allows for an allowance of 6.8 pence per child per breakfast. To missquote a famous phrase…

Breakfast will barely mean Breakfast! No substitute for a hot cooked lunch, which schools are geared up to provide.

Brexit: After all the negotiations, the country needs to decide, once we know the deal. If you were buying a car or washing machine next week, you would choose the make, model, colour and so on. Then you would do the research to establish what the price was.

You would not buy it at any price! So it should be with our EC Exit deal.

Corbyn’s Labour Party is divided, with many former MPs (about 100 so far), on being re-elected, planning to leave for a new party if he does not resign on June 9th after a Labour defeat.

Mrs May is taking us for branded…can’t even be bothered to turn up for debates. Do not give her a blank cheque! Liberal Democrats will provide strong opposition… So badly needed!
