An event to showcase the lives and legacy of the war fallen and the history they have left behind is being held in Pudsey.
The Living Memory Project at Pudsey Cemetery will explore Pudsey’s past, mapping and recording war graves.
One of the organisers Damon Sugden said:
“Our townsfolk have served their country for generations and played a significant role in both World Wars as did the entire community.
“There are fascinating stories behind their experiences both for those who died in service and the lucky ones who came home and led full lives. It is vital for the future preservation of the cemetery that we recognise its true value.”
The event will start at the main entrance on Cemetery Road from 12pm on Saturday, September 17.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join in. Free tea, coffee and refreshments available.
