West Yorkshire Police have warned against leaving windows open in hot weather following an incident in Farsley.

Two men were arrested after using ladders to climb through an open first floor window of a house in Farsley and take the occupants’ car keys. They were arrested leaving the house.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:

“Please be aware during warm weather when leaving windows open overnight, use window locks where possible and set house alarms.

“Please put valuables away in a safe place, which includes car keys. Don’t leave valuables like car keys, mobile phones, money etc on show near open windows.”
