Kirkstall: Police issue appeal over robbery of pensioner

A CCTV image has been released of a man police would like to speak to in connection with the robbery of a 70-year-old woman in Kirkstall.

Officers are keen to identify the man pictured above as part of their ongoing enquiries and would encourage him, or anyone with information about his identity, to come forwards.

The offence happened on Kirkstall Lane, Kirkstall, at approximately 1pm on Wednesday, 25 October. The victim was pushed to the ground during the robbery and had her handbag stolen.

Detective Constable Chris Terry, of Leeds District CID, said:

“This was a vile offence targeting a vulnerable 70-year-old lady.
“From the enquiries we have made so far, we believe the man pictured may be able to assist us with our enquiries.
“I would urge anyone with information about the man in this CCTV image to please contact Leeds District CID via 101.”
