Pictured: What are these soldier lights in Bramley and Pudsey?

If you’ve passed Pudsey Cenotaph or Bramley War Memorial recently, you may have been wondering why there’s a striking figure of a soldier lit up nearby.

The solitary ‘Tommy’ silhouette situated on the lamp standards is to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War One.

They have been funded separately by local donations to both Bramley War Memorial and Pudsey Cenotaph.

The Tommy silhouettes are of limited numbers and are designed and fitted by Leeds City Council.

We think they’re a moving and poignant reminder of the men and women who gave their lives so many years ago …
