Community group All Together Armley have secured funding and are all set to go with a community art project on Town Street.

Working with professional artists Emma Hardaker and Bobbie from Modes of Expression, the group will work through March and April, the piece will be completed and installed on Town Street by 21st April.

An open drop in session will be held on March 4th at Armley Library between 11am and 1pm where anyone can pop in with their memories, photos or drawings and help create Armley’s very own bit of history which will be available for generations to come.

Details of the official launch party will be announced nearer the time.

Emma, of Modes, said

“We will involve various community groups in Armley to deliver creative workshops that will use materials that will create a locally-inspired mural.

Created using collective skills in mark making and collage, this artwork will serve as a proud monument to a collective ethos. The art will represent Armley and celebrate the cultural symbiosis and experience of Armley folk that make Armley the wonderful and diverse community driven place it is.”
