Following a series of Lantern making workshops over the past five weeks the events team are now in the build phase for Sunday evening’s Dark Garden event, writes John Preston.

A big thanks to Leeds Inspired for funding the creative workshops for the public, local residents and some of the groups at Hollybush.

A series of 1.5m-high fungi lantern and some smaller ones will Lanterns will light the way on a magical and fun activity throughout the Hollybush garden. There will be a selection of traditional hands on activities of apple bobbing, potion tasting, feely boxes, afterwards there will be soup, cake and refreshments in the café in our historic barn.

A lovely chance to bring younger children to experience our garden by candlelight.

The main block of tickets for 5pm to 7pm is now fully sold, we have now added a batch of tickets for a late session from 7pm until 8pm.

Please see Eventbrite to book.

The garden with the fungi lanterns will be open for a Halloween daytime trail for the usual café opening times of 10.30am to 3pm Tuesday to Friday, 30th October to 2nd November next week.
