Community-led Bramley Baths has announced the appointment of Sue Stones as its new chief executive.

Sue brings a wealth of retail experience, having worked for Harvey Nichols at their stores in Edinburgh, Bristol and Leeds over the past 15 years. Sue comes to general store manager at the Briggate store.

Sue, who joined the Broad Lane baths this week and takes over from Tracy Basu, said:

“I am delighted to join Bramley Baths and be a part of this fantastic team. I’ve been blown away by the professionalism of the staff here, the Baths really does run like a well-oiled machine.

“I was looking to do something different, away from retail, with greater focus on community and on people.
“We are all custodians of the Baths and we aim to make sure it is here for future generations. The key to the Baths’ longevity is engaging the younger population, and that is something I’m keen to build on.”

Chair of Bramley Baths Trustees John Battle said:

“Sue joins us with a great track record to lead us into the next phase of our successful community enterprise.

“We now need to step up a level to reach out even further into the local community, as well as refurbish our building and facilities. Sue brings the expertise and ideas to lead us into the next stages.”
