Farsley Celtic play host to Harrogate Town tonight (Wednesday) as the build up to the new season continues under new manager Adam Lakeland, writes Tom Ritchie.

Both sides are playing their third game of pre-season, and as the new season draws closer both sides will be looking to raise the intensity and sharpness of their football.

Harrogate Town are the second Conference North opponents of the pre-season for Farsley after the visit of York City, the Minstermen leaving with a 4-1 victory.

The Celts won their first game of Adam Lakeland’s tenure on Saturday with a 4-3 win over Eccleshill United, with James Walshaw, Luke Parkin and Adam Priestley all getting on the score sheet.

With seven goals conceded in two games, Lakeland will be looking for an improved performance from his defence, following on from the second half clean sheet on Saturday.

Celts’ captain Danny Ellis will be playing his first game against his former side after leaving Harrogate this summer.

Harrogate are preparing for their first season as a full-time outfit in the Conference North.

Town opened their preparations with a 4-2 defeat to Leeds United in a behind closed doors friendly, before bouncing back with successive wins against Parkgate (1-0) and Hartlepool (2-1), with the professional outfit gathering momentum ahead of the new season.

So why not come and down and support The Celts, the game is at Throstle Nest, postcode LS28 5BE with kick-off at 7.45pm. Admission prices are just £7 adults, £4 concessions and £1 U16s. See you there!
