Farnley: Triple car pile-up followed police chase

Five people were injured when a suspected stolen car ploughed into two other cars near Sainsbury’s in Farnley.

The Ring Road was closed for several hours yesterday evening (Friday, June 23) in both directions near the junction with Tong Road.

The suspected stolen White Hyundai Tucson ended up sandwiched between a black Fiesta and a blue Ford Focus following the collision.

A statement issued by West Yorkshire police this morning said that officers began a pursuit on Tong Lane in Bradford of a suspected stolen Hyundai car. The statement adds:

“A short time later at 6.35pm the vehicle officers were pursuing and two other vehicles were in collision on the ring road at Farnley. 

“As a result of that collision five people from the Hyundai were taken to hospital with what are described as non life threatening injuries.”

Five people have been arrested in connection with the incident
