Colourful Armley is a new community project run by the people of Armley for the people of Armley! writes DONNA TEMPLEMAN.

Colourful Armley is about introducing colour into our area through secret doorstep and letterbox gifts, creative activity days and public displays of colour.

It’s also an opportunity to feel pride and love by creating a connected and joyful community.

When will it happen?

The ‘Colourful’ team will begin spreading joy and colour during November 2017.

Twenty Armley addresses have been chosen at random and will receive a colourful gift.

Each gift has been handmade by Armley residents. Gifts will include pom-pom garlands, brightly coloured origami and other handcrafted wonders.

The gift packs will contain details about the project, how people can share colourful images across our social media plus info about passing a colourful gift onto a neighbour to keep the colourful love alive!

Community activity day

On Sunday 26th November we’ll be hosting an activity day at Interplay Theatre on Armley Ridge Road.

Open from 11am – 4pm, activities & refreshments are offered on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis.

The activity day is an opportunity for Armley folk to get involved in some colourful crafting, our swap shop, contribute towards two art installations we’re making and meet new people.

What’s so special about colour?

Colour is about joy, positivity, vibrancy and visibility!

Sometimes it’s the little things in life that can have a deep impact and make you feel happy about where you live. A brightly painted door, a colourful mural or a blooming flower bed.

Colour makes you smile and if we can get all of Armley smiling we’ll be proper chuffed!

Our project is about possibilities for the future!
