Villagers in Calverley are being encouraged to smile by taking part in a special week-long ‘Happiness Project’.

Voluntary community organisation Creative Calverley want to encourage people to be happier, share time, activities, fun and possibly challenge people to try new experiences and activities in the village.

The group said on their website:

“During the week, we challenge you to select an activity (you can do more if you would like to) each day and we hope that it will make you feel happier once you have done it.”

There is also the opportunity to download activities from the Creative Calverley website during the week, which started yesterday (Saturday).

More details on the Creative Calverley website.

The Happiness Project runs until March 30.

Calverley, meanwhile, recently voted for its own awards to recognise and thank those people who contribute to and make a difference to the Calverley community.

The fun awards saw Phil Arnold become ‘King’ of Calverley and Waheeda Hussain become Queen of Calverley. The full list of winners can be found here.
