The big boys are next! Bramley Buffaloes are back in action on Saturday the 30th June when they travel to table-toppers Batley Boys, writes Martyn Cheney.
The Buffs will be fired up to get back to winning ways after a disappointing and frustrating two point defeat at Siddal Academy two weeks ago.
The Batley Boys have defeated all before them so far this season, but as Buffaloes followers know, on their day the boys in the black and amber can be a match for anybody.
With Upton dropping out of the league, the race for the top four is really going to be down to the wire with any club being in with a chance of snatching that fourth spot.
So if you fancy a day out at beautiful Batley, then head for the Bramley Phoenix ground for 12.30pm, for a reasonable return fare of £7.50 you can take in the varied cultural delights of the Heavy Woollen district while seeing the Buffaloes in action.
Head Coach Steve Langton (sponsored by Cheney Payroll Services) commented after Thursday night’s training session:
“It’s going to be a tough one but we’ll be taking a strong team over, especially with Brad and Nathan back, which will give us more options on attack. And we’re still looking to strengthen and have a few irons in the fire at present.”
Club Captain Brad Wilson (sponsored by The Three Amigos) said:
“Massive game, but these are the games which the players want to play in and look forward to. We’re not going over there just to compete we’re going over there to win and then come back to Bramley and win at casino night!”

The evening starts at 7pm with the Roulette and BlackJack tables open from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 per person, and included in your entry fee will be supper, and £10,000 worth of ‘Fun Money’ which will be on sale throughout the evening – £5 for £10,000 worth of Fun Money. The three people with the most amount of Fun Money at the end of the evening will win prizes.
