Are you aged 16-25? Do you live in Bramley or Stanningley? Would you like free training to become a lifeguard at Bramley Baths?

The folks at the community-owned swimming pool say they would like to enable more young people to pursue a career in Aquatics. Training to be a lifeguard is the first step towards many different roles including swimming teaching.

From 1-6 August 2016, 12 local people aged 16-25 years will take part in an intensive week of training here led by the Baths’ experienced swimming team.

A spokesperson said:

“We will coach you to take the NPLQ exam at the end of the week – and if you pass, you’ll have a nationally recognized qualification that will allow you to work in swimming pools across the UK – or maybe right here in Bramley!”

If you are interested in applying, come to an open evening on Friday 22 April, 8pm-9pm.

You can hear from our lifeguards, find out more about the course, and chat to the team about applying for the NPLQ course.

If you’d like to know more, or you can’t make it on 22nd April, email jacob@bramleybaths.com

Bramley Baths also thanked to Leeds City Council Inner West Area Committee’s Wellbeing Fund for funding.

The Baths will also be running a second NPLQ course from 22-27 August 2016 which anyone can attend. The course cost is reduced by 25% and available at £172.50 per person. If you’d like details, email jacob@bramleybaths.com.
