Members of Bramley Baptist Church, Hough Lane, celebrated their 240th anniversary on 22nd and 23rd April, writes Fran Barker.

The celebrations started on Saturday with a guided tour of the graveyard featuring the War and Remembered Graves. The well-attended tour was led by Ian Johnstone of the Bramley War Graves volunteers.

An afternoon buffet tea was followed by an illustrated talk by church secretary, John Pratt, on the last 240 years of the Baptist Church in Bramley.

On Sunday the church pastor, Revered Paul Greenin, conducted the 240th anniversary service with the Reverend Richard Banks, a former member of the church and now pastor at Queen’s Road Baptist Church, Coventry, preaching.
