Two primary schools sites in Bramley and Calverley have been transferred over to academy chains,

Leeds City Council has agreed to transfer the site of Bramley Primary School to the Wellspring Academy Trust on a 125-year lease.

The transfer of the site lease to the academy trust was required by the Department of Education ahead of the school becoming an academy. Ownership will remain with the council.

The school’s last Ofsted report in November 2017 classed the school as inadequate.

And the council has also agreed to transfer the site of Calverley Parkside Primary School to the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust.

The school was rated ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted at its inspection last December.

The Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust is based in West Leeds and includes Pudsey Primrose Hill and Waterloo Primary Schools.
