Farsley Celtic 2 Bamber Bridge 1

Farsley Celtic made it eleven consecutive victories as their superb run continued with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Bamber Bridge, writes Thomas Ritchie.

Farsley had a chance to go in front in the first minute from a Chris Howarth free-kick, however Paddy Miller headed just wide.

Farsley then took the lead shortly after as Adam Clayton headed Jordan Deacey’s corner against the post before he managed to bundle the ball into the net via a Glenn Steel deflection. The Celts almost doubled their minutes later as Paul Walker’s low free-kick was pushed away from the bottom corner by Bamber Bridge ‘keeper Lee Dovey.

Farsley doubled their lead early on in the second half as Paddy Miller headed home Lewis Nightingale’s corner.

Midway through the second half Bamber Bridge got back in the game as Matty Kay collected a loose ball and rifled it into the back of the net.

Clayton then had a fantastic opportunity to restore The Celts two goal cushion yet he could only head over Deacey’s corner despite being unchallenged.

Bamber Bridge then had a glorious chance to level the scores however Alistair Waddecar’s header from Jamie Milligan’s free-kick was fantastically clawed out of the air by keeper Tom Taylor. Farsley then had a chance to seal all three points, however Deacey’s effort was saved excellently from point-blank range by Dovey.
