A former children’s clothing shop on Armley Town Street could become a hot food takeaway, if plans are approved.

Developer Gainhold Ltd wants to change the use of the shop as efforts to attract another trader to take over the former Little Angels shop have proven difficult.

A statement accompanying the application said the unit had been empty for six months:

“The unit has been on the market since March 2018, with no offers made by an A1 operator. The applicant has, however, received interest from a number of retailers trading under the A5 use class category. “

The application says there would be minimal impact on parking in the area, and adds:

“Given the proximity of existing car parking facilities, alongside the trading nature of an A5 operator; it is our view that the proposal will not result in an intensification of on street parking. Consequently, the proposal will not impact on highways safety.”

The plans can be viewed in full and commented upon here.
